Birthday Fishing Part 2

So as part of my birthday celebration week (I have tried, unsuccessfully, to make the entire month of August my birthday celebration) Corey booked a fishing trip for  he and I to go down to Dillon and fish the Beaverhead River. Neither of us had fished the Beaverhead River before so it sounded like a fun adventure, plus we would have someone else rowing the boat, so Corey would get to fish too……….I’m thinking then this must count as part of his birthday too…..???  So we headed out on a Friday afternoon for Dillon, leaving early enough for a little shopping and then some dinner.

Our trip was booked with the Backcountry Angler, they had a place for us to stay and they were super nice folks.

Saturday was our day to fish and it started bright and early at 6:30am…………I was thinking birthday’s were for sleeping in??

This is Andy, he was our guide.

Even though it was early and chilly, it was well worth it……..the morning was beautiful, peaceful, and the fish were hungry.

I started out with this little brown trout.

Then is was Corey’s turn….

Some wildlife along the way.

Now this is getting close to a nice birthday fish ….

And Corey caught a nice one too………notice that the nose of his fish is mysteriously cut off, it was my birthday and my story, and I wanted to catch the biggest fish…

Tah-Dah………my birthday fish 🙂

It was a great day, I will definately be back to fish the Beaverhead River again.

Damn, making me miss MT, offshore.  Fall fishing is always the best, crowds are gone and the top bugs are bringing’em all up.  Nice pictures and thanks for the charts ;D – mtcutbow
